My video practice aims to capture the energies that surround us at any given moment. The camera acts like a brush, attentive to the responses of the universe, seeking to elevate and align them to tell a story within this vast « Play Time. » It captures a moment of life frozen in time, within a city still marked by a touching humanity, amidst an architecture shaped by the remnants of an era of economic boom in the 60s and 70s, now tarnished and forgotten by pollution and the passage of time.

The management of society is in the hands of the same people bound by the rules. Stores, raw materials, all of it seems to be reaching its end. There is an interweaving of symbols, a reality that affects everyone. The ground markings, the directional arrows, all of this is part of this industrial microcosm, which has almost become a necessity in terms of household appliances, devices, and other « digital prosthetics » that control our human relationships. There is a general awareness of this « animal » world, transparent with our faded humanity.

After creating the video « Space-Time, » I felt the need to produce an image that would freeze what remains of our humanity on a surface as cold as the monolith in Stanley Kubrick’s film « 2001: A Space Odyssey. » In this science fiction film, the metal monolith is presented as the evolution of humanity. How and when will we fight against this icy ideal?
